Auditions for the fall 2010 productions of A Child's Christmas in Wales and The Velveteen Rabbit.

What to bring: Yourself! We recommend you carefully read the character descriptions below and consider which characters would be a good fit for you. You DO NOT need to bring anything prepared to the audition. We will be reading from the script at the auditions. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions.

How long will the auditions last? Plan to stay for the full two hours. At each audition we'll share information on the play, the rehearsal process and other info on working with Boston Children's Theatre.

Do I need to register to audition? Registration is encouraged, but not required.

Do I need to bring a headshot and resume? If you have a headshot and resume, do bring them. If you do not have a head shot and resume, we will take a photo of you on the day you audition.

A CHILD'S CHRISTMAS IN WALES - A Child's Christmas in Wales is co-produced with the Boston Playwrights' Theatre and features a company of professional and BCT actors.

Characters: Young Dylan - the poet as a boy, age 9 to 12, must , Jack Briggs - Young Dylan's best friend, age 8 - 12, Nancy Thomas - Young Dylan's older sister, age 11 - 14. And adult characters. For more information on audition for adult professional roles, please contact BCT Executive Producer.

Rehearsals:              11/9 to 12/2                            The rehearsal times are not yet set. As the production is run on a professional theatre schedule, adult actors will be rehearsing all day. Student actor rehearsals will be concentrated in the afternoons, Tuesday through Friday and on weekends.

 Please indicate any conflicts you may have Tuesday through Friday after school and on weekends from 11/9 to 12/2.

Performances: Performances run 12/3 to 12/23. The performances run Wed, Thu at 10am, Fri @ 7:30pm, Sat. @ 4pm and 8pm, Sun. @ 2pm.

 

VELVETEEN RABBIT - The Velveteen Rabbit is a magical play involving puppets and live actors. Featuring original music and new puppets developed by Marjorie Tudor of Tasha Tudor and Family.

Characters: All characters are being auditioned. We're looking for a company of actors and puppeteers to work in an ensemble to bring this story to life. If cast, actors will be assigned to one or more of the following roles: Velveteen Rabbit, Boy, Nana, Margery, Skin Horse, Toy Soldier, Lion, Sailboat, Wild Rabbits, Fairy, Toys, Rabbit.

Rehearsals: 10/26 to 11/26

Tue, Wed and Thu from 4:30pm to 8:00pm

 Sat. from 3pm to 7pm

Also Sun. 11/21 and Mon. 11/22, time TBA

*final week rehearsals end at 9:00pm

Performances: 11/27 to 12/19
